In the 21st Century, communications has expanded and evolved due to the advent of the Internet. Transport of data and information used to be limited to airwaves and copper phone wire but now has expanded to high fidelity wireless, new compression technologies for copper phone/coaxial wire and fiber optics cabling. We reaffirm the principle of public airwaves to include the Internet and all infrastructure to be public and publicly owned. Private owners may not own the physical infrastructure of the public broadband network just as private owners do not own the public roadways and freeways
